Is Billy Talent...?

Is Billy Talent slightly indy, or indy punk, or possibly Alternative and Indy, because some of their old stuff (first album, songs like "Try Honesty") sound a little like indy. I know my music, I've just always thought of them as Alternative, and now... well what do you think? Lets spark a disscution.
