SWINE FLU. I was fit tested as a nurse, using Bitrex. Was I tested correctly?

The nurse testing me, fitted me for a mask initially and then removed the mask, before spraying 30 sprays of Bitrex into a small enclosed head covering (about 18 inches square). I was told to lick my lips, several times because I could not taste the substance. Is this the correct way of performing Fit testing, and should I have not been asked to consent to this type of testing? I would be grateful to you for giving me the source of your information rather than a YES or NO answer. Thanks
