Do the amount of African American inventions come close to the Amount of Caucasian inventions?

I am just curious, I have a friend that claims almost all of the technological advances have come through Caucasians. He also stated that the vast majority of inventions were created in the Northern Hemisphere. I want to know the truth I've done a little research and I can only find a few inventions created by African Americans and most of them are not really "technologically advanced". I would like some examples please.
