Is it just me that thinks Mel Gibson should play Mad Max in Mad Max 4?

I've heard that there is going to be a Mad Max 4 but as far as I can tell, Mel Gibson is not planned to reprise his role. Is it just me, or is it stupid getting someone else to play Mad Max when the original is still making movies and running around? Nobody wants to see someone playing him and looking like its Mad Max's son or like he's regenerated or something. I dont want Mad Max 4 if there's no Mel Gibson, sure- he's aged, but does Mad Max not age too?
