Am I just being impatient or is my orthodontist not doing a good job?

I've been waiting to get braces since I could remember. Now that I can pay for it on my own I finally got them 7 months ago. After about 3 months they started looking how I wanted (my teeth werent that bad in the first place) then in april I missed an appointment because I couldnt afford it. Once I went back my ortho tried bringing my molars forward. That messed up the alignment of my front teeth, and the past couple visits he hasnt religned my brackets to direct them the righ way. Hes very old probably in his 80's, I have 3 months left and my bite isnt aligned correctly yet and I'm like ???? Getting pissed off also he has his istants do everything, is this normal? He pops in every few months and mumbles then walks out. What should I do?
